There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other. So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Chithra Ravi is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from India and is a fan of ASTRO. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from? Hello. I’m Chithra Ravi, 22yo, from India. How and when did you enter the fandom? I will never forget that day. It’s on January 2019 that I entered the ASTRO’s fandom. Back then, I already heard ASTRO’s song ‘Always You’, from “Rise Up” Album in November 2018. I heard it accidently on some English playlist for the first time & I liked it at same time, but I did not search deeply for the song ‘Always You’ . Then, I watched some dance performance. Suddenly, my eyes caught ASTRO’s ‘All night’ & ‘Again’ dance performances. This was the most iconic moment in my life, when I saw ASTRO group the first time. What are the reasons why you love your favorite group? I love ASTRO so much that there can be so many reasons . - ASTRO members are really working hard & they put a lot of importance on respecting fans. - All of them are so supportive to each other, etc. These are the reasons why I love ASTRO. Who caught your attention at first and why? Hmm, it was not only one person. The 6 Members caught my attention at first because of the reason I mentioned earlier. I saw the stage performance of the whole group. The reason is because they performed on a rainy stage. It must have been so difficult to dance but they did so well. Who is your bias, and why? I can’t choose one person as my bias. At first, I loved EunWoo as my bias but after 1 year I love all 6 members, because of special reasons: For MJ -> I like his magical voice & cuty funny moments that make me laugh For JinJin -> I like his leader role, rapping & helping kindness For EunWoo -> OMG I love his smile, I can’t sleep without seeing that smile before I sleep For MoonBin -> I like more his funny facial expression & his voice For Rocky -> Oh wow, I love his rapping & dancing, especially his spinning step is awesome For SanHa -> Ah, what I should I say about him? He is my younger brother. I don’t have a brother. I like his cutey style forever. Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers? I recommend ‘Don’t Cry My Love’ by EunWoo. Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics? “The tears won’t stop, You are my first Love. The reason why it - was so hard to say Goodbye, was because you’re my first Love…” *From ASTRO’s ‘Innocent Love’ or First Love’. Are there any words from the members you would like to share? JinJin’s words: - “Please support each & every one of us no matter what we are doing, please be there for ASTRO forever”. EunWoo’s words: -“There are the times when you want to collapse or get hurt with what others say, but time will pass and you will get cured”. What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life? My every day starts with ASTRO’s songs & ends with ASTRO in my dreams. In my life now, in a day, I spend all my time with ASTRO. Throughout, they are with me in another imaginary world. This world is only where I can feel happy. ASTRO is the most important part of my daily life. What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying? This is my first & last fangirl experience. I really feel more happiness. Sometimes, I don’t think I’m only a fangirl but we are (ASTRO+ AROHA ) one family and this is a duty to support our fandom family. What type of concept do you prefer: cute, dark, sexy, etc? Cute type concert. Can you share with readers the first ever picture you’ve saved of your bias on your phone? Yes, I saved a lot of ASTRO’s pictures on my mobile & computer, etc. I want to share one of my favorites. Can you describe your bias in only one word? Yes, ASTRO is my everything or my happy world. What is a random fact that you think people don’t know about them? Hmm, I think their hard work & their pains. A lot of people don’t know about it. If you could spend the day with them, what would you want to do together? I want to speak more with them. Their childhood memories, stage concert experience, then I would like to hear life advice from them. What is your best souvenir with your favorite group until now? I like AAF 2022 concert. When I watch this video, they give happiness & also some sad crying. I really like this concert in 2022. Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)? Yeah, so many fans are fighting between fandoms, but why are they fighting and using negative points of other fandoms? In my opinion, all fandoms are popular in their own hardworking results. They all have special & powerful talents. If you don’t like one group just focus on your fandom. Don’t hurt other fandoms. We all know idols hide so much pains and struggles. Respect all fandom & support yourself. You can also add a message/letter to your bias or show it on a message scrapbook. To my ASTRO world “I really want to thank you, because in my troubled life you only can make me live in the world. MJ: you are the “Happy Virus”, you only spread happiness to all don’t be sad on your military service. On AROHAs side, you have full support! Fighting! Rocky & SanHa, you two are shining in the drama field, congrats. EunWoo, I really like your dramas but sometimes when I see your romance I get jealous…(just kidding). Nowadays you have so many promotions, so I’m really happy. I wish you reach a higher level promotions. MoonBin, I like that you are participating in more variety shows. I like them all. Then I want to share only one small wish… maybe some drama producer will see this article. Please if you could give one small chance to act to our cutey Leader “JinJin”. AROHAs watch other members’ acting but we still haven’t seen JinJin in this field. I really feel sad about this. Please give one small character to him. All AROHAs want to see JinJin in any one drama, please. Anyway, ASTRO, we all support & and are by your side forever ….. Fighting. Stay safe & healthy.
