We’re halfway into the story and there are a ton of questions left unanswered as of now. However, one thing is certain: we’re loving the journey to the destination. The leading lady of the show, Na HeeDo, played brilliantly by Kim TaeRi is at the centre of the drama’s universe. She is a fencing gold medalist and a resolute young woman, who stops at nothing to achieve her goals and realize her dreams. However, she also has the sensitivity and innocence of a high school girl who is navigating the richness of youth and the complexity of her own feelings for the first time.
In the drama, there are two very different sides to Na HeeDo. She is fearless, confident, and unstoppable on the fencing strip. There’s a godly aura to her, from the perspective of a viewer but also a calm humility and sportsmanship that evokes respect.
On the other hand, when she is just being herself, a normal teenager, especially with Baek YiJin, there’s an easiness to her that is truly relaxing. With YiJin, she can be her true, unrestrained self without a care in the world, much like how she is when she is by herself. Moreover, not only does her presence bring addictive happiness and joy to those around her but is also therapeutic for YiJin, in a sense.
It is this duality that makes HeeDo such a relatable character for a wide, global audience. Her personality is so multifaceted that everyone can find something or the other in it that they can identify with, whether that be her kindness, her competitiveness, or her willpower. Such a character is truly rare and we’re more than grateful for her. Which Na HeeDo is your favourite? Share your thoughts with Kpopmap in the comments section down below!
